Hi everyone,
We are having a benefit for Kim Shoesmith on Sunday, October 12th in Lisbon. Here is a flyer, please help me out and get this circulated to others. I will have some additional copies available at tonight’s Parrot meeting.
Kim has really had a rough go of it this year. She was put back on a full regiment of chemo when she found out the “bad counts” in her liver were sky rocketing. They did a special liver procedure/surgery where they did a direct chemo hit to the liver and implanted a “chemo wafer” tor targeted results. This procedure was supposed to keep her liver “at bay” for at least 10-12 months. Kim found out last Tuesday that the liver hit was basically ineffective and that her “bad” liver counts were still on the rise.
In addition to the liver procedure, Kim also had a second brain surgery a couple of weeks ago in attempts to combat sever side effects from the tumors in her head. The last brain surgery she had 2 years ago provided immediate relief and was easily recovered from. This surgery, while successful from the surgeon’s point of view has just not yielded the positive results Kim was looking for. She still has numbness in her right side, severe headaches, and feels nauseated frequently. The recovery was extremely difficult & painful this go around. She was immobilized for about 3 weeks.
Kim’s physical condition is making it almost impossible for her to work. The benefit is being held to help provide financial relief. I hope you all can make it.
